Prof. Dr. Zarema Obradovic is a senior epidemiologist working at the Epidemiology Department of the Institute of Public Health of Canton Sarajevo and a full professor of epidemiology at the Faculty for Health Studies, University of Sarajevo. She graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Sarajevo, completed her specialization in epidemiology in 1990, earned her Master of Medical Sciences in 1997, and received her Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in 2001.
Her professional and research activities span several interconnected fields, including public health, epidemiology, travel medicine, occupational health, and behavioral aspects of disease prevention. In her work, she frequently integrates psychological and behavioral determinants—such as risk perception, preventive behavior, vaccine acceptance, and health-related decision-making—into epidemiological research and public health practice.
Prof. Obradović has published more than 170 scientific papers across diverse topics and has participated in numerous international congresses and conferences worldwide, including meetings in Bern, London, Paris, Athens, Rome, Ankara, Boston, Johannesburg, Singapore, and Nairobi.
She serves as a member of the national commission for the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and acts as the national coordinator for non-communicable diseases (WHO). Her contributions increasingly emphasize the integration of biomedical, environmental, and behavioral factors to support evidence-based strategies in population health.
